Salesforce, the world’s leading AI-powered CRM, has announced the acquisition of Own Company, a provider of data protection and management solutions, for $1.9 billion in cash. This deal reinforces Salesforce’s focus on delivering secure, end-to-end solutions in data protection and compliance. Own, a Salesforce AppExchange partner since 2012, supports nearly 7,000 customers with its cloud-native platform that provides data archiving, security, and analytics. This acquisition aims to strengthen Salesforce's existing data security products, including Salesforce Backup and Shield, as the need for robust data protection grows with increased digital transformation and AI integration.
