Acquisition Enhances Digital Adoption

On September 12, 2024, WalkMe Ltd., a well-known digital adoption platform traded on the Nasdaq Global Select Market, was acquired by SAP SE. WalkMe's cutting-edge technology improves user experience and speeds up company transformation by automating process execution across a range of commercial software platforms. WalkMe's AI capabilities will be integrated with SAP's copilot Joule to offer customers proactive, context-aware support that will greatly increase productivity across processes.

As part of the acquisition agreement, shareholders of WalkMe will receive $14.00 per share in cash, subject to adjustments, marking an equity value of approximately $1.5 billion. This offer represents about a 45% premium to WalkMe’s closing share price on June 4, 2024, when SAP and WalkMe finalized binding terms. SAP CEO Christian Klein emphasized that the acquisition is aimed at enhancing support for end users, enabling them to swiftly adopt new solutions and maximize the value of their IT investments.
