Siemens has joined forces with Microsoft to transform industrial automation through the Siemens Industrial Copilot, an AI-powered solution enhanced by Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service. The Copilot leverages Siemens’ extensive industry expertise with Microsoft’s advanced AI capabilities, delivering new automation solutions that can handle even the most demanding manufacturing environments. Since its release in July 2024, over 100 companies, including Thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering and Schaeffler, have adopted the Siemens Industrial Copilot, benefiting from its real-time problem-solving features and streamlined workflows. The Copilot’s integration into Siemens Xcelerator, an open digital business platform, offers engineers a Gen AI-powered assistant that helps simplify complex tasks, addressing both the skilled labor shortage and productivity challenges.
Thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering is set to deploy the Copilot globally in early 2025, underscoring its commitment to efficient and sustainable automation solutions. The Copilot has already proven effective in applications like battery quality inspection, where it manages data and documentation for high-stakes production processes. Siemens and Microsoft executives have highlighted the strategic importance of this partnership in advancing industrial AI, enabling companies to increase resilience, innovation, and competitiveness. The Siemens Industrial Copilot will be showcased at the upcoming SPS expo in Nuremberg, where further details on its capabilities and industry impact will be unveiled.
