Since even before ChatGPT was launched, if someone put out a call for market-leading AI help, Rohan would answer.
Rohan is the platform at Rohirrim, founded in 2022 by Steven Aberle. Unlike Large Language Models, Rohan is trained on each organization’s unique data. Aberle recognized early on the need for organization-specific AI, designed to be trained on a company’s private data rather than relying on a generalized model.
This comes in handy for the Reston, Virginia-based company, which is purpose-built for government-related RFPs of any kind, including but not limited to Aerospace and Defense. Above all, these industries value control over their own intellectual property as they continue to innovate.
It’s probably time to note that, for those who aren’t fans of The Lord of the Rings, the names “Rohan” and “Rohirrim” mean little. In the fantasy series, they are famed horsemen, ultimately central to the plot to (spoiler alert) successfully destroy the One Ring to Rule Them All and bring down the dark lord Sauron.
To this end, his employees’ company anniversaries shall not pass without being recognized in a very Aberle way. The CEO’s tradition is to take a photo of his employees and change them into characters from the series while highlighting their good work. His message is simple: Like the Rohirrim of Middle Earth, his team rides together.
With the beacons lit for the future of AI – providing a valuable, “hallucination”-free service while keeping data safe and secure – Rohirrim has shown the meaning of haste in responding to the potential deficiencies of LLMs for companies that need to leverage AI. If his competitors are frightened, they’re not nearly frightened enough.
