The Weekly Roundup: March 15, 2025

The big news: Technology giant Intel announced that Lip-Bu Tan has been named Chief Executive Officer, effective March 18. The former CEO of Cadence Design Systems, Tan takes over for Interim Co-CEOs Michelle Johnston Holthaus and Dave Zinsner. 

On the move: Cloud-based solutions company QAD appointed Sanjay Brahmawar, formerly the Chief Executive Officer of Software AG, as its new CEO. Brahmawar replaces Anton Chilton, who spent 20 years at the company and has served as CEO since 2018.

The buzz: Sweden-based software giant IFS announced that it was partnering with workforce solutions company UKG in North America to “help businesses improve efficiency, reduce administrative overhead, and foster a more engaged and productive workforce.”

On the rise: Software development company Coder announced a partnership with engineering intelligence company DX. In a statement, Coder said the partnership would help organizations better measure productivity gains, reduce context switching and setup time, and optimize developer workflows. 

What’s next: Web browser company Brave Software has sued News Corporation, per report, in advance of a potential lawsuit from the media company. The disagreement centers around access to subscriber-only articles from News Corporation publications including The Wall Street Journal and The New York Post.
