The big news: Google announced an agreement to purchase cloud security platform Wiz for $32 billion in an all-cash transaction. In a blog post, the company said that Wiz’s products will continue to work and be available across all major clouds, including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud platforms.

On the move: Construction management software company Procore announced that Founder and Chief Executive Officer Tooey Courtemanche intends to transition to Executive Chairman upon the appointment of a successor. Courtemanche has run the company since 2002. The Board of Directors will initiate a search process to find Courtemanche’s replacement.

The buzz: A survey by SAP found that 44 percent of C-Suite executives would override a decision they had already planned to make based on AI insights, and another 38 percent would trust AI to make business decisions on their behalf. The survey polled 300 C-Level executives at companies with at least $1 billion in annual revenue in the United States.

On the rise: Dataminr, an AI-powered company that helps to detect cyberattacks, secured $85 million in new funding from NightDragon and HSBC through a combination of convertible financing and credit. The company said it would use use this new funding to expand its international go-to-market in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia,

What’s next: Financial services software company Finastra unveiled a partnership with IBM for an enhanced cloudbased lending managed services offering. IBM is providing design and implementation for Finastra’s Lending Cloud Service, leveraging its generative AI for enterprise platform, watsonx, as part of operationally focused IBM Consulting assets.
