Anthropic Raises $3.5B in Series E, Valuation Reaches $61.5B

Anthropic has secured $3.5 billion in a Series E funding round, bringing its post-money valuation to $61.5 billion. The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and included participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Cisco Investments, D1 Capital Partners, Fidelity Management & Research Company, General Catalyst, Jane Street, Menlo Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, and other new and existing investors. Anthropic will use the capital to enhance the development of its AI systems, expand computing capacity, advance research in AI safety and alignment, and continue its international growth.

The announcement follows the recent launch of Claude 3.7 Sonnet and Claude Code, which have further strengthened the company’s momentum in AI development. Anthropic aims to create AI systems that collaborate effectively with teams to manage complex projects and synthesize information. Its AI tools are being adopted by organizations including Zoom, Snowflake, Pfizer, Thomson Reuters, Novo Nordisk, and Replit, which have integrated Claude into various platforms and workflows. Notably, Claude has helped accelerate clinical study report writing at Novo Nordisk and now contributes to Amazon's Alexa+ platform. Anthropic remains committed to advancing AI technology to support innovation across multiple industries.
