New Survey Shows Executives Increasingly Rely on AI for Business Decisions

SAP SE has released new research revealing that nearly half of C-suite Executives are willing to rely on generative AI to influence or even override their own business decisions. According to the “AI Has a Seat in the C-Suite” survey, conducted by Wakefield Research and sponsored by SAP, 44 percent of Executives would change a decision they had already planned to make based on AI insights. Additionally, 38 percent said they would trust AI to make decisions on their behalf. The survey included responses from 300 C-level Executives at companies with more than $1 billion in annual revenue in the U.S. Among the findings, 74 percent of Executives said they trust AI more than advice from family or friends.

The report also found that 55 percent of Executives work at organizations where AI-driven insights often replace traditional decision-making. Nearly half of those surveyed use generative AI tools daily, and many rely on AI to analyze data, identify risks, suggest alternatives, and support key business functions such as product development, budgeting, and market research. Beyond business outcomes, executives also reported personal benefits from using AI, including improved work-life balance, reduced stress, and better mental well-being.
