Riverbed Technology has announced the appointment of Bill Roberts as its new Federal Field Chief Technology Officer. With more than 20 years of experience in the IT sector, Roberts will lead the technical strategy for Riverbed’s U.S. federal operations. His responsibilities include advocating for federal customers, aligning their requirements with the company’s offerings, and promoting the Riverbed platform to government agencies, partners, and system integrators. Roberts brings a strong background in technical support, project management, implementation consulting, and sales engineering to his new role.
Before assuming this position, Roberts served as the deputy CTO for Department of Defense and Intelligence clients at Riverbed, where he specialized in enhancing network and application performance. He initially joined the company as a senior solutions architect. Before his tenure at Riverbed, Roberts worked at BMC Software for eight years as a Solutions Engineer and Software Consultant, following BMC’s acquisition of Numara Software. Earlier in his career, he held roles including manager of computer support and operations at The New York Times and technical support supervisor at Eastman Kodak. His appointment reflects Riverbed’s continued focus on strengthening its presence in the federal technology space.
