AdventHealth Powers Headquarters with On-Site Solar, Advancing Sustainability Goals

AdventHealth has completed a major solar energy project at its corporate headquarters in Altamonte Springs, Florida, marking a significant step toward its environmental goals. The 3-megawatt solar photovoltaic system, now fully operational, is one of the largest privately owned solar installations in Florida. It features over 7,500 solar panels installed across building rooftops, parking garages, walkways, and canopies. The project is expected to generate 4,200 megawatt-hours of electricity annually, enough to supply around one-third of the campus’ energy needs and power over 550 homes each year. It also introduces 62 electric vehicle charging ports and adds covered parking, enhancing employee and visitor convenience while promoting sustainability.

AdventHealth aims to cut its emissions in half by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050. Olesea Azevedo, Chief Administrative Officer for AdventHealth, highlighted, “Completing this solar energy installation is one of the many ways we’re thoughtfully stewarding the natural resources entrusted to us.” Developed in collaboration with ESA, the project reflects strategic planning with the city of Altamonte Springs and Duke Energy. Morgan Brawner, ESA’s Chief Revenue Officer, stated, “Working with the AdventHealth team on this project has been incredibly rewarding.  By integrating multiple solar technologies, including rooftop and carport installations, this campus now serves as a model for future onsite solar projects across their facilities.” The initiative aligns with AdventHealth’s broader clean energy roadmap and its commitments under the HHS Health Sector Climate Pledge.
