BigBear.ai, a Virginia-based AI solutions company serving sectors such as national security and transportation, has confirmed widespread deployment of its Enhanced Passenger Processing (EPP) biometric technology at multiple high-traffic airports and ports of entry. Developed by Pangiam, now part of BigBear.ai, the EPP system integrates artificial intelligence with biometric identification to improve efficiency and safety for international travelers. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and various international partners have implemented the solution at key locations, including John F. Kennedy International Airport (Terminals 4 and 8), Los Angeles International Airport (Terminals 7 and TBIT), Charlotte Douglas International (CLT), and ports in Canada such as Montreal-Trudeau International Airport and the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.
The expansion supports enhanced security and quicker processing times for U.S. citizens entering the country. Kevin McAleenan, CEO of BigBear.ai, stated, “Deploying Enhanced Passenger Processing at scale requires near-seamless integration of advanced biometrics, AI, and operational infrastructure – this is where BigBear.ai excels.” He added, “We are proud to support international airports, seaports, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in transforming the security and safety for travelers, while elevating the passenger experience through AI-powered innovation.” BigBear.ai’s presence now spans over a dozen North American locations, marking a notable milestone in AI-powered travel facilitation.
