Citrix, a corporate segment of Cloud Software Group, has announced the purchase of Unicon GmbH, a long-time Citrix Ready partner and vendor of the secure endpoint operating system eLux as well as the enterprise management platform Scout. With this acquisition, Citrix aims to enhance endpoint security, reduce operational costs, and improve management capabilities for enterprise customers. eLux allows organizations to extend the lifespan of their existing devices, which is particularly beneficial as companies prepare for the end of Windows 10 support. Unicon’s solutions are already deployed across 2.5 million devices in more than 65 countries, supporting industries including finance, healthcare, and the public sector.
Citrix and Unicon have collaborated since 2001, integrating eLux with Citrix Virtual Apps, Desktops, and other technologies. The acquisition follows Citrix’s recent purchases of deviceTRUST and Strong Network, reinforcing its focus on secure hybrid work environments. Unicon’s Scout platform centralizes endpoint management, simplifying IT operations and reducing costs. Philipp Benkler, former CEO of Unicon and now Vice President of Product at Citrix, stated that this acquisition enables businesses to implement secure and future-ready IT strategies. Citrix executives emphasized that eLux and Scout will help companies improve security, sustainability, and efficiency while maintaining a seamless user experience.
