The acquisition aims to integrate Coda’s advanced tools, including its AI-powered Coda Brain, into Grammarly’s ecosystem to create a unified AI productivity platform. Shishir Mehrotra, Coda’s CEO and Co-Founder, will become Grammarly’s new CEO and join its Board of Directors. With Coda’s expertise in consolidating company knowledge and enhancing team workflows, Grammarly plans to expand its services, offering a seamless blend of AI-driven tools across applications. This move aligns with Grammarly’s vision of redefining productivity by combining human and AI collaboration in diverse workspaces.
Both companies boast significant customer bases and technological strengths. Grammarly supports over 40 million users and 50,000 organizations, including Atlassian and Chevron, with its AI tools integrated across 500,000 applications and websites. Meanwhile, Coda, serving 50,000 teams globally, has redefined workspace productivity through customizable solutions, aiding companies like Figma and The New York Times. The combined platform will leverage Coda Brain to enhance Grammarly’s contextual understanding and provide intelligent, permission-aware connections across systems.
