Hartford has announced an updated organizational structure and expanded the roles of two senior Executives to support its technology and operations strategy. Shekar Pannala has been appointed Chief Information Officer, taking charge of technology, cyber security, infrastructure, and cloud modernization. Jeffery Hawkins has been named Chief Data, AI, and Operations Officer, adding operational responsibilities to his existing oversight of data, analytics, and artificial intelligence. Both Executives now report directly to Chairman and CEO Christopher Swift. The changes follow the resignation of former Chief Information and Operations Officer Deepa Soni, who will assist in a smooth transition.
Pannala brings more than 30 years of technology leadership experience, having held senior roles at Chubb, S&P Global, and BNY Mellon. Hawkins, with more than 25 years in the field, previously led technology transformation as CIO at CVS Health and held leadership positions at Humana. According to Swift, “Our new structure enables us to focus more deeply on our critical technology-and-operations priorities and build on our competitive advantages.” The Hartford, known for its property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, and mutual funds, aims to enhance customer and partner experiences through continued technological advancement and strategic leadership.
