Kevin Scott, Microsoft’s Executive Vice President of AI and Chief Technology Officer, has a notable 20-year career in technology, encompassing both academia and industry. Prior to Microsoft, he served as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Operations at LinkedIn, where he was instrumental in building the technology and engineering teams, guiding the company through its IPO, and managing rapid growth. Scott also led mobile ads engineering at Google, including the integration of AdMob following its $750 million acquisition. His earlier roles at Google involved significant contributions to search and ads engineering.
Scott is the host of the podcast “Behind the Tech” and authored “Reprogramming the American Dream,” which explores AI’s practical applications. He is also a board member of Shopify, advises Silicon Valley startups, and is an active angel investor. Additionally, Scott founded the non-profit Behind the Tech and serves as a trustee for The Scott Foundation. He holds a master’s degree in computer science from Wake Forest University and a bachelor’s degree from Lynchburg College.
