On September 11, 2024, Oracle announced the availability of its zettascale cloud computing clusters, accelerated by the NVIDIA Blackwell platform, with orders open for the largest AI supercomputer in the cloud. The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Supercluster offers advanced performance, featuring up to 131,072 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and delivering a peak performance of 2.4 zettaFLOPS. This capability provides more than three times the GPU count of the Frontier supercomputer and over six times that of other hyperscalers. OCI Superclusters support various configurations, including options powered by NVIDIA H100 and H200 Tensor Core GPUs, with forthcoming models set to offer additional performance enhancements.
Oracle's high-performing AI infrastructure is already being utilized by leading organizations, such as Zoom, which leverages OCI to enhance its AI Companion service. This integration allows Zoom to provide advanced features like email drafting and meeting summaries while ensuring data sovereignty in regions like Saudi Arabia. As businesses increasingly rely on AI, Oracle's extensive cloud offerings, combined with NVIDIA's capabilities, position OCI as a critical resource for advancing AI research and innovation globally. Oracle's focus on data and AI sovereignty ensures that clients meet their regulatory requirements while maximizing their technological potential.
