Access to clean drinking water remains one of the world’s most urgent public health challenges, and Procter & Gamble is continuing to meet that challenge with practical, scalable solutions. Through its Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) Program, the company has delivered over 23 billion liters of clean water to communities across 100 countries—and now, it’s doubling down. With a clear goal of reaching 25 billion liters by 2025, P&G is expanding distribution of its 4-gram water purification packets through a global network of nonprofit partners. These small, easy-to-use packets have the power to transform contaminated water into safe drinking water in just 30 minutes, dramatically reducing the risk of waterborne illnesses and enabling healthier daily life.
The impact reaches far beyond physical health. In regions where collecting or boiling water consumes hours each day—often the responsibility of women and girls—access to clean water has become a lever for gender equity and educational opportunity. The program’s partnerships with organizations like Save the Children and CARE have helped turn water access into a platform for community-led change, from school health clubs to women-owned businesses. By combining science, local leadership, and long-term investment, P&G’s CSDW Program continues to show how corporate resources can be mobilized for measurable, lasting public good.
