Sonos Leadership Update: Tom Conrad Named Interim CEO

Sonos, a company specializing in sound experiences, announced that Patrick Spence stepped down as Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Directors. Tom Conrad, an Independent Board Member since 2017, has been appointed Interim CEO while the company searches for its next leader with the help of an executive search firm. The leadership transition is not connected to the company’s fiscal first-quarter results, which are scheduled for release on February 6, 2025. Sonos Board Chair Julius Genachowski praised Spence’s contributions, highlighting his role in expanding the company’s portfolio into home theater, portable audio, and headphones.

Conrad brings more than 30 years of consumer technology experience, including leadership roles at Snap, Pandora, and Quibi. As Interim CEO, Conrad aims to enhance Sonos’ core customer experience and drive innovation. “I am excited to work with our team to restore the reliability and user experience that have defined Sonos while bringing innovative new products to market. Together, we will focus on delivering extraordinary experiences for our customers and strong results for our shareholders,” he said.
