Synthesia, an enterprise AI video communications platform, has successfully closed a $180 million Series D funding round led by NEA, with participation from GV, MMC Ventures, and FirstMark, alongside new investors including World Innovation Lab, Atlassian Ventures, and PSP Growth. This investment raises Synthesia's total capital to more than $330 million and values the company at $2.1 billion. Known for its enterprise AI-powered video communications platform, Synthesia serves more than 60,000 businesses, including more than 60 percent of Fortune 100 companies. The funding will support the development of Synthesia 2.0, an advanced platform for creating AI-generated videos at scale, and facilitate its expansion across key markets, including Japan, Europe, Australia, and North America.
The company plans to enhance its offerings with new features including personal AI avatars, multilingual video players, and AI-assisted video localization tools. Additionally, Synthesia has bolstered its leadership team by appointing Peter Hill as Chief Technology Officer and other strategic hires including a Director of Science, a Chief Revenue Officer, and a Chief of Staff. Its focus on compliance and security is underscored by its ISO 42001 certification and participation in a public red team test organized by NIST. With a growing client base and operations in seven countries, Synthesia continues to advance secure and efficient video communication solutions for diverse industries.
